Script writing and developing

Hi Everyone,

It’s the dog days of July heat 2018 in Los Angeles, and I am here working on a project in the editing room. It’s actually so hot that we had to shut down the computers, cause it was simply too hot to work with all those hard drives running (they can get HOT). So I decided to take a minute and post on my page.

I have been writing non-stop for the past few years and in the sci-fi, horror, and action genres. Fully completed scripts that I think would all work as movies. Writing to me is a great way to escape and create original worlds that allow fans to possibly learn from, inspired by or simply be entertained. In fact, after having experienced projects from small to more advanced, I feel like I have a roadmap to continue my career, which I am very grateful for and have worked very hard for. In fact, I think I am ready to pursue a large project for one of the Studios. I feel I can probably bring something great to the table as a filmmaker, producer or actor, and help a team build a smash hit blockbuster (knock on wood).

Anyways, just thinking out loud here and manifesting good energy. Hope you are all following your dreams, as I have through thick and thin.

God bless,

Shahin Sean Solimon

Seeing this view at Regal LA Live of Sinbad in theaters really was the start of a dream manifested into reality… but it all started from the imagination of yours truly on a late Saturday night!

As the creator – director of the famed hero and fantasy film: Sinbad The Fifth Voyage (2014)
I can tell you first hand, it required a lot of hard work, creativity and of course storytelling to ultimately produce. In this post, I have added some of the processes. A very big and special thanks to the production crew that helped manifest “Sinbad” into reality.

The above story was published in ScyFy magazine by writer Jeff Berkwits, it was an honor to be mentioned and covered by them. All the coverage of this humbling project (Sinbad The Fifth Voyage), this was probably my favorite… especially reading it at a Barnes and Noble for the first time, I felt I had broken through to a certain extent. I am big into Sci-Fi movies as of other genres, so this was a big honor!

A note about creativity meeting desire to be noticed

Hey everyone, sorry for the long delay in posting. I have been super busy developing several NEW projects. Writing is always the hard part because without a story and script you don’t have shit (as the old saying goes). Also, when I go into deep writing mode, I tend to shy away from social media, I actually calculated that on average, people waste an entire month of the year just reading, posting and just staring at their freaking phones!  Nothing against it, cause I do love the outlet Instagram, Twitter, etc., gives us artist for marketing and showcasing. But I’ll be damned if I am going to be losing a month of my life looking at my phone, Haha! I simply think healthy breaks from that stuff is important for one’s sanity!

Anyway, I am almost done with re-writing a rather personal project. Although the story is a SciFi, it has a ton of hidden messages and meaning, at least to me. Hoping to get this baby made soon! I will add more details soon!

I will keep you guys posted!

Thanks,

Shahin Sean Solimon

Directing, and Acting… it’s an art unto itself.

Many people have asked me, what part of production do I like best, directing, writing, producing, or acting? … or even Post Production?? (the toughest part may I add).

My answer is always the same; I simply love being creative, and the challenge of making a movie come alive. Each one of those areas has it’s own set of challenges, and fun times of course. So I love them all individually, or collectively. I can either just do one facet, such as just direct on a project, just act, or even just write (which I have done several times) or all of them. I have been told by high level industry execs, that I have the skill of “50 guys”. I don’t know if I would agree, but maybe two or three guys lol. I just like to think of it as a way to get the job done, and help the team make a cool movie.

How much time you are willing to invest and learn those skills, and experience the ups and downs is what it boils down to. Becoming battle tested, and getting better at your craft. I would like to master all of them, and don’t mind doing just one of them, whatever the team needs me to do. It’s that simple.

See you at the movies! :)

Sinbad The Fifth Voyage (Creativity Vs. Couch Potato Reviews)

I rarely care about what “hate reviews” say. Most of the time it’s just some dough-bag that is simply “jellies” of hard work, and can’t seem to get off Google or FB to do something about it… so as the old saying goes; “Frankly my dear I don’t give a damn” about your review! It’s fuel for all of us hard working folks who are trying to inspire people.

Its NOT okay to negatively bash art. I was just reading all the mean, bizarre, and bashing reviews of film such as The God Father?, Scarface?, Empire Strikes Back??, Thor?, Guardians of the Galaxy?, and yes my film Sinbad The Fifth Voyage???

It’s couch potato internet haters that are given a key to post whatever they want on public sites that make the reviews skewed and worthless, if you had some (as my homeboys would say) “balls” you would be doing something other than relieving yourself on VERY hard work, from VERY talented artist. So keep them coming… it’s fuel for us.

Have a nice day.

Thats all I have to say about that. ;)
